Originally developed in the early 1970's and later adopted in varying forms, Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a therapeutic method of enhancing an individual's experience by altering their internal perceptions, and as a result, their patterns of behavior. Through improved internal communication and self-awareness, a person can achieve a richer life experience by modifying their internal programming.
NLP's intended outcome is really about modifying the basis of one's self perception, and much less about assessing or treating the dysfunction itself. Subjects of NLP make progress by trusting their best instincts while re-evaluating their goals and as a result, making better life decisions.
